NPC: agentes no humanos y prototipado social como metodología para las ciencias sociales

El artículo propone el análisis de personajes no jugables (NPC) como Agentes No Humanos de Comunicación (ANHC) y el prototipado social como una metodología útil para la investigación en ciencias sociales. Desde una perspectiva posfenomenológica, sostiene que estos agentes, dotados de capacidades adaptativas y potencias cognitivas, ya no constituyen simples representaciones computacionales, sino entidades capaces de asumir roles sociales, interactuar entre sí y generar dinámicas emergentes que permiten explorar fenómenos complejos en entornos controlados. Se revisan antecedentes del modelado multiagencial y se analizan desarrollos recientes que emplean agentes generativos para estudiar redes sociales, mercados financieros y comunidades virtuales, destacando su potencial para reproducir procesos de difusión de información, cooperación, conflicto y formación de normas. Asimismo, se examina la creciente antropomorfización de estos agentes y la constitución de vínculos afectivos entre humanos y sistemas artificiales, aspecto que complejiza la distinción entre ambos tipos de agencia. Finalmente, el trabajo responde a las principales objeciones dirigidas al modelado social computacional (reduccionismo, implicancias político-epistémicas y cuestionamientos éticos) al argumentar que el prototipado social no busca sustituir la investigación empírica, sino ampliar sus capacidades heurísticas mediante la experimentación con escenarios híbridos donde la agencia se distribuye entre actores humanos y no humanos.Citas
