Gramma’s editorial board is committed to practicing and ensuring ethical behavior throughout the publishing process.

The following are the highlights of the journal’s ethical commitment, which are derived from the “Code of Conduct and Best Practices” published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

 

Publishing entity

- Commits to protect the intellectual property of the publication and copyright.

- Guarantees an objective, fair and thorough review of texts based on peer review.

- Commits to respond to complaints or misunderstandings of an ethical nature or conflict of interest and to follow the appropriate procedures to resolve them, according to the regulations established by Universidad del Salvador.

 

Directors

- Commit to continuously improve the publication, to guarantee the quality of the material, to defend freedom of expression, to prevent commercial interests from compromising moral standards, and to publish errata, clarifications, retractions or apologies.

- Commit to promote the opinion of authors, readers, reviewers and board members on how to improve the journal’s processes.

- Commit to accept or reject an article based on the importance, originality, clarity of the text and the subject matter of the journal.

- Commit to publish guidelines/standards/ about what is expected of authors and reviewers. Such guidelines shall be updated regularly.

- Commit to ensure that the identity of reviewers and authors is protected.

- Commit to provide editorial board members with guidelines on what is expected of them.

 

Editors

- Commit to perform their editorial duties in an objective, fair and balanced manner.

- Commit to take the necessary measures to prevent fraudulent publications.

- Guarantee the anonymity of authors and reviewers during the evaluation of texts to preserve the intellectual integrity of the entire process.

- Commit to enforce the deadlines for revisions and publication of the papers.

 

Reviewers

- Commit to carry out an honest, critical and objective review.

- Commit to evaluate the papers in the shortest possible time in order to meet the deadlines.

- Commit to deliver a report detailing the observations on the points of the article to be evaluated that the journal’s management has requested.

- Under no circumstances will they keep the work or copy it.

 

Authors

- Undertake not to submit the article to another journal and guarantee that the work is original and unpublished.

- Are responsible for the opinions, statements or conclusions they formulate in their texts.

- Undertake to use images whose rights have been granted or whose authors have given permission for them to be published. Mention the author of the image (individual, group, institution or media outlet).

- Must mention the original data of archival materials (letters, images, etc.), and the place where it is archived or exhibited.

- Undertake to make any changes or corrections requested by the reviewers.
