Resumen

Este artículo trata sobre el papel del capital social y las teorías antiutilitaristas en el contexto de la adaptación al cambio climático. Instituciones internacionales y gobiernos reconocen el valor de los bienes relacionales y la creación de capacidades colectivas de las comunidades para luchar contra la crisis climática. Sin embargo, hay una praxis tecnocrática que frustra los esfuerzos participativos. De esta manera, la participación es más un ejercicio retórico que real. La adaptación al cambio climático, que afecta de manera determinante a la cohesión social, política y económica, se considera un problema técnico sin tener en cuenta los aspectos sociales que forman parte de las relaciones entre sociedad y medioambiente.
