Relaciones Bilaterales Argentina-Irlanda

Silvia Merega was the Argentine Ambassador to Ireland from 2013 to 2015. She graduated in Law from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and got a master’s degree in International Relations at The American University in Washington DC. She obtained a PhD in International Law at Universidad Complutense, Madrid, 1973-1975. She graduated from the ISEN in 1981 where she was awarded a gold medal for high academic performance. She presided over the Malvinas and South Atlantic Islands Office belonging to the Foreign Ministry between 1996 and 2000. She served as well at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Argentina to the Organization of American States (OAS) from 2001 to 2007 and at the Argentine Embassy to the European Union between 1993 and 1996. She directed the Foreign Service Institute in 2012.Silvia Merega fue Embajadora argentina en Irlanda entre 2013 y 2015. Obtuvo su doctorado en Derecho internacional en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 1973-1975. Se graduó del ISEN en 1981, donde le fue otorgada la medalla de oro por su alto rendimiento académico. Presidió la oficina de Malvinas e Islas del Atlántico Sur del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores entre 1996 y 2000. Sirvió en la Misión permanente de la República Argentina ante la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) de 2001 a 2007 y en la Embajada argentina ante la Unión Europea entre 1993 y 1996. Dirigió el Instituto de Servicio Exterior en 2012.
