Dissensions between Silvina Ocampo and Sur Group: deviations of a grammar “With Torticollis"
Keywords:
Silvina Ocampo, Sur Group, grammar, sinisterAbstract
This research enunciates the struggles between Silvina Ocampo's writing and the literary demands from Sur, the group which she belonged. This work focuses on a singularity of Ocampo's poetic artifice: the syntactic anomalies of her grammar, that is to say what Victoria Ocampo defined as a syntax “with torticollis”. The hypotheses is that Silvina’s “twisted” phrases produce a sinister atmosphere in her stories, a gothic sensibility. These phrases are also a sign that subtly manifests the uncanny in the familiar environment.Downloads
