Abstract

Dalla sua fondamentale antologia della narrativa fantastica dell’Ottocento, Italo Calvino aveva escluso i narratori italiani perché considerava che questo genere fosse da ritenere un campo “minore” nella letteratura italiana del XIX secolo, con poche eccezioni di rilievo rappresentate dalla Scapigliatura milanese, Boito, De Marchi e Capuana1.
