Gaucho literature is a strictly Argentine genre. However, not every author who has developed this genre was born in our country or wrote in Spanish. This is the case of William Henry Hudson.Hudson is known for writing stories set in the Argentine pampa, which allow him to describe and narrate gaucho idiosyncrasy. Even though he lived in our country during his childhood, he wrote his tales in English, with naturalist eyes, for an audience that is unaware of this world. The purpose of this research work is to analyse within two of his stories, «El Ombú» and «Marta Riquelme», the female figures emerging from the storyline, while home angels, characters that allow the author to recreate life in the pampa.Downloads
